The individual sessions can last between two and twenty minutes, and the “unguided” sessions present a relaxing soundtrack of relaxing music and sounds of nature.
Smiling Mind is an application created by an Australian non-profit organization of the same name. The organization hopes to make mindfulness meditation accessible to all, regardless of their socioeconomic status or geographical location, with the aim of including the subject in the Australian National Curriculum for the year 2020. Co-created with psychologists and professionals of mental health, the application establishes itself. In addition to other similar offers, through an additional specialization, which includes separate modules for group work (the classroom, the workplace, sports teams).
Headspace is an application developed specifically for meditation in the workplace. Described as a “gym membership for the mind”, this app encourages ten minutes of uninterrupted meditation per day, all of which can happen right behind your desk! It is no secret that finding a balance between work and health can be a struggle. Apps like Headspace are a step in the right direction, making sure to take time for yourself every day.
You do not have to be a transcendent yogi to use the H * nest meditation application, which aims to provide “full attention for the rest of us”. With a cheerful and fun approach, Meditation H * nest complements its guided sessions with “salty language”, which makes them entertaining and easy to relate instantly, even for skeptics.
Daily stress, worries and anxieties affect our mental and physical health. Finding the time to clear our mind is incredibly important for our overall well-being. It may seem intimidating at first, but a great first step is to start meditation with a little help from our smartphones.
